Oakey State School is a Positive Behaviours for Learning School and our School Wide Behaviour Expectations are:
Be Safe
Be Respectful
Be a Learner
The Oakey State School community values a respectful, safe learning environment to enable our students to strive for success.
Our student code of coduct (PDF, 2400 KB) outlines the proactive and reactive measures taken to ensure a safe and supportive school environment for students.
The department's code of school behaviour document (PDF, 263 KB) defines the responsibilities that all members of the school community are expected to uphold and recognises the significance of appropriate and meaningful relationships. It outlines a consistent standard of behaviour for all state school communities in Queensland, inclusive of students, staff and parents. The Code has been developed to deliver the best possible outcomes for students, recognising the close relationship between learning, achievement and behaviour.
Many strategies are used by our school to provide appropriate consequences for unacceptable student behaviour. The use of school disciplinary absences - suspensions, exclusions and cancellations of enrolment - are consequences used after consideration has been given to all other responses.
